So, how is this different from the Shooting range section?  I guess we are trying to seperate serious inquires from all the horse pucky that go on at the Longbranch???

But I'm guessing the Longbranch is for the "How many elk do you see in this picture?"

And this section is for "I need a new Left side ejector for my Win97 shotgun and where do I get one?

Just so you know, I do need a left hand extractor from my Win97 12 ga and were do I get one.????

You were too fast for me.  ;)

I am in the middle of finishing this change.

The Shootin' Range is now for general non cas topics. See the board description.

Part of the topics discussed in the Shootin' Range will be moved to this board. Several members have expressed they want a clean cas related board and this is an attempt to do so.

Marshal, what about those of us that want to discuss NON CAS sports and issues related specifically to getting faster?  That was the point of the Shooting Range forum.  It was aimed at the "gamer" and those that really want to improve and for those that also play other shooting games.  The issues discussed there may apply to EVERY action shooting game.  Or at least the posts that I put up do.  That's why they were where they were.

I for one don't appreciate having my posts moved without notice to a forum for which they weren't intended.  Especially since they apply to NON CAS shooting games just as much as to CAS shooting games.

I'll go back to the periodic post and lurking now.

Doc, I'm sorry you are offended by this latest adjustment. My job as a host is to listen to the majority of feedbacks combined with a evaluation of how the forum is used and where people post. I can't please all and if I tried, it would have resulted in 50+ boards on this forum. Threads being moved to a more suitable category makes it easier for users to find what they are looking for.

The majority of the topics on "The Shooting Range" was also cas related and since the Longbranch has turned into a fun, social and open forum, it was time for a change.

Howdy Marshal H.

I don't mind having two forums for serious shooting questions. I will monitor this one for CAS related stuff, and the other for non-CAS stuff that I also have an interest in. I hope Doc Shapiro can see we will find both interesting, but some folks might not want to have to sift through the non-CAS topics.

Marshal? Doc Shapiro had posted a (so far) six part series about the techniques of shooting in The Shooting Range, that applied to more than CAS shooters. Would it be possible to have that collection placed in the Shooting Range?

Thanks,

I hope he does. To his defense, I need to add that the main reason for his reactions is my late notice to the moderators. When I did the last software upgrade and changes, I planned to send out a message to the moderators before the release.
I ran into some trouble with the script and to avoid loosing hours of work, I had to push the release button instead of using the backup. I didn't find time to send out a moderator notice until late in the afternoon yesterday when I had finished my "real life work". Murphy's Law was present yesterday for sure.

FYI, Cas City is a pet child of mine and I try to keep up when time allows. Although I try to be as professional as I can, sometimes things don't always go as planned.  :-\

Doc's threads that I could find, has been copied (qouted) to the shooting range and made sticky.

This way, I hope you're all satisfied with the outcome.
