I decided to just pan lube my cowboy action bullets, being retired I have a lot more time than money. Trouble is, I can't just pull or push the bullets out of the lube cake, the lube just came right out of the groove. So I had to use a home made "cookie cutter", a .45-70 case with the primer flash hole drilled way out for a screwdriver. This is slower than even I like.

I read of Dick's Pearl Lube with a cheap toilet bowl ring as an ingredient so last time I went to the big Lowes store I bought a couple. I added a half a toilet bowl ring to my already made lube in my big pan and then just pulled those bullets right out of the cake with my little pliers, saved me a lot of time.

I have three hours a weekday while my Pal Rush is on, that is when I load, cast or fool with guns. Dick's idea of toilet bowl rings has made my three hours more productive. Heck, maybe I'll have time to polish my gunbelt and holsters now.

Howdy Pete,

Watch the ambient temperature when everything is going great with the pan lubing.  A few degrees can make a difference.  I've found that when the temp climbs I have to put my pan in the fridge for a while so that the bullets pop out with the lube in place and not too soupy.

Pan lubing can be very fast, but what you do with the bullets after they leave the lube does matter.  If I'm not going to resize I load the bullets immediately.

Always remember, when the wind is from the left, start on the right. . .
