Sure is pretty. That's the problem, at least for me. I'd be afraid to take it out and shoot it. I'd get all upset when the top of the receiver started getting dented up from empties raining down on it. I'd have a cow first ding I put in the stock or first scratch I put in the blue. CAS is pretty rough on guns and that one is too darn pretty for my blood, that pretty and it would probably sit in the safe and not get fired, and that would just be wrong.

That's what I think, what do you think?
That's bad business! How long do you think I'd stay in operation if it cost me money every time I pulled a job? If he'd pay me that much to stop robbing him, I'd stop robbing him.

Ya probably inherited every penny ya got!

If I could afford it I'd also shoot it.          Sure is purty though

I think it`s way too purdy to risk damage from useing ..not a working cowboy type rifle , If it were mine I`m sure I`d shoot it ...thats just me , ya can`t take it with ya in the end , and then again I`d feel real bad first time it got a ding or something on her.

Funny thing, though, some people actually buy guns to collect and not shoot.  Imagine that!   ;D

I'm with Seth.  If I could afford it I'd buy it and shoot it.  I have an engraved 73 that I shoot all the time.  Many rifles were engraved and used.  I wouldn't own a gun I wouldn't or couldn't shoot.

I agree with Seth that deep down, it's a Uberti and not a "collector's" gun.  If you can afford it do it.  You can be guaranteed that you won't encounter very many other folks with one.  And that's the biggest factor that drives folks to shoot a different firearm than the pack. ;D

IT's a beauty.. and I'm envious ... if I could  :'(  and I did buy it :-X  .... I'd shoot it as well...
enjoyment is what it was made for ,either shooting or collecting it's in the eye of the beholder..

I use MAD money to buy guns... I call it that because it makes the wife MAD

Buy her, (convert her to .44 Colt: 15 in the tube!)  & shoot her plenty! My 2 cents.

Well ..................................... there are a lot of guns out there folks describe as to nice to shoot.  I kind of disagree.  Guns were ment to be shot.  Even the presentation guns that transfer between heads of state.  If I can afford to own it, I shoot it.  Period.

There is a similarly engraved Henry in one of the local gun shops, similar price.  If I had the coin in my poke, I'd buy it, go thru the action, short stroke it, and SHOOT THE HECK OUT OF IT!!!

Try it, you'll like it.  You will cry the first time you scratch it though.

If I had the coin, I would buy that puppy in a heartbeat!  Then I would do as Coffinmaker said and shot the heck out of it. :D

Carefully, of course! ;)

Very nice engraving, with nicer job on the wood than the red stocks that usually come on them. But how can you put that much money into a gun and live with those stupid Italian proof marks and other crap on the side of the barrel?  >:( You are going to have to take a file to that sucker the moment it arrives!  ;D

Agree that underneath it is just a Uberti and I doubt its collectability, as such it seems way over priced to me - engraving or not. You can probably do a better job on the stocks on a standard Uberti yourself.

First off that's a mighty pretty gun, and there are people out there, that just collect guns , and never shoot them , so be it, we all ride different hores, but if your a shooter, and a Cowboy at heart, what would be the point of having a nice gun like this , if you couldn't take it out ,shoot it ,enjoy it and show it off a little bit to the rest of us Pards.
For me, I'm like Wil ketchum, I don't and wont have or own a gun that I'm not going to shoot, unless it's not shootable...

First, i say thanks for all you comments.
I only buy guns that i will shoot.'No wall hanger'. ;D

But i find a guy who will engrave my Henry Lincoln for only €800. :D
So i can save €1000 or $1490 for something else. :D

Sounds like a better idea to me ....I`ve been thinking about getting something envraved on a side plate on my Henry ..I checked with VTI ..the side plates aren`t too high about 30 bucks each ...so If I make a mistake , it won`t be a hard fix ....BUT what to write ???? I keep drawing a blank ... :-\
