Hi all-

I'm new to this forum and look forward to learning new things and such.

My question is about R&D and their drop-in conversion cylinders for the Pietta 1860 Army.  Specifically, has anyone had to send their revolver to the company to have the timing/fitting worked on for their new conversion cylinder(s)?  I received my cylinder about a month ago and had to send it along with the revolver to R&D to get the fitting and timing corrected.  So far, it's been just over 3 weeks and despite phone calls and emails, they haven't responded back *at all* as to whether or not it's fixed/been shipped/or just plain hasn't been looked at yet.  Has anyone run up against this problem with R&D, or maybe they're just really busy?

I hate to complain about this, but zero communication from a place that has roughly $500 of your merchandise seems a might uncalled for in my opinion.  But I may just be misunderstanding them?

Thoughts/answers greatly appreciated!

Many 'drop-in' cylinders need fitting. I've done my own at home with my shopsmith and hand tools.

I've never owned R&D, but hear good things about their quality. I chose Kirst Konversions simply b/c he answered my emails and phone calls. He also puts out a great product that he stands behind.

I'll never own a R&D...b/c Kirst has been to great to me.
Smoke em if ya got em.

Wingman    I have a R&D pietta 1860 cylinder and it required a little fitting. I have talked to Kenny and I know he is out straight trying to keep up with orders, Im sure if you leave a message or keep calling you will hear from him. There in my opion no finer a machineing than what R&D does, one fine product.         Adios  Sgt. Jake

I know this probably doesnt help you at this point, but if you buy your gun and RandD cylinder from Taylors, the gunsmith there will make sure fits and functions BEFORE shipping it, but you need to ask for that service when you order it.  NO CHARGE.
