BOLT LOCKS AT HALF COCK???

I broke a hand spring on my Uberti 51 navy.
After replacing the spring and putting it back together the bolt pops up locking the cylinder before hammwer goes to half cock???
So???
Same hand,same hammer, bolt !!! Everything is the same except the hand spring.
What could be the problem?
BTW-The new hand spring is stronger than the old one if that has anything to do with it

the ear on the bolt could have been bent or broken during reassembly. Take everything out and then try just the bolt and hammer so you can watch the action from the bottom. Then add the hand and watch again to see if anything acts different. When all ells fails, take it to someone who has worked on old Colts and clones.
