Hello SSS

I am hoping someone can give me some advice; I have an Armi Sport 56/50 Spencer
SN 0993 sold by Taylor's which I acquired about a year ago used. Over the last year
I have used it in three matches it has operated fine until the last two stages of the
last match. When levering the action forward the upper and lower block comes free
of the receiver. If anyone has any idea what the problem is I would appreciate any
help you could give me.

Sgt Major,

If I'm reading your post correctly, when you push down on your lever handle, the entire block assembly drops down and completely out of the receiver, on the downward motion.  If this is what is happening to you, I had a similar problem with my original Spencer.

To eliminate the problem, I removed the spring found inside the upper and lower block and stretched it out a bit...replaced it between the blocks, and then pulled down on the lever handle.  It took several stretches of the spring to get the block assembly to stop where it was supposed to, and it's been fine ever since.

There was another "fix" mentioned recently for the same downward problem.  I'll try to post the link to it.  Here is the link: For a Armi Sport .44 Russian Spencer -  http://www.cascity.com/forumhall/index.php/topic,17259.0.html

Also, maybe this link will help, too:  http://www.cascity.com/forumhall/index.php/topic,15447.0.html

Thank you for the information, I'll try the repair suggestions and report back.

You could try soldering (or maybe JB Welding) a thick shim between the upper and lower blocks to prevent the upper block from dropping too far into the lower as you open the action.
