Ok so I have been doing all sorts of research and I now have some questions.  The only reloading equipment I have ever used is Lee.  Lee does not make anything for the 50-90.   Other than dies what else will I need.  I want to use a single stage press.  I also want to avoid RCBS dies because I have read recent reports of sizeing problems.  Which pretty much leaves Laymn.  Any thoughts or Sugestions?  How do other folks prime these things?

See my reply to your previous post. EVERY answer is on that website.  ;)

I don't do 50-90, but am set up for .50-70 Using Lyman dies.   I modify cases for 12.7mm x 44 R Swedish Remington.

Dies for .50-90 Sharps from CH4D are  $145 + a shell holder  #57.  You can prime on a regular press  My .50-70 cases are starline.

I couldn't find .50-90 dies on Lyman or RCBS, but I think RCBS has a specialty list, but pricey.

Fox Creek Kid   Thats where my confusion comes from.  There seem to be issues with priming and shell holders.  Will an rcbs or laymen shell holder work on a lee single stage press?

It should.

And RCBS doesn't (as far as I know) have any more sizing issues than do any others - as long as you know what they're making.  The reason that RCBS makes their "Cowboy" dies is because most of their standard dies are geared toward jacketed bullets, not lead, so there's some confusion out there.  Thing is, Lyman does about the same.  Just read up or call ANY of the tech reps - they're usually VERY happy to supply you with up-to-date, good answers - no matter what experience level you're at.

P.S. - This is just MY opinion: I'd rather have an RCBS or Lyman press and Lee dies.  IF I didn't have my Dillon or my Bonanza presses - that I use with Dillon, RCBS, Lee AND Lyman dies!  ;)  And yes, I DO have a small LEE press and a couple friends with other Lee presses.

The LEE handpress is my most used piece of reloading equipment.  It's SSSSooooo handy and strong enough for men, and other Pards too.  Case forming and other difficult chores go to an RCBS press.
