The shoot is on, date 8/16/08.
The plan is for a one day shoot, the Saturday before their normal shoot. Goddard Cowboys in Colfax, IA will allow us to shoot on their range. We can arrive on Friday & set up camps. The cost will be $15.00 each. If you want, you can bring others guns with you, stay Saturday night, & shoot their normal match. They have several interesting categories to shoot; Working Cowboy, (1 rifle & 1 pistol), Rifleman (2 lever action rifles), & Josey Wales (4 revolvers).

With it being a small shoot, I am looking at 4 classes.
Milspec Single Shot
Milspec Repeater
Scout, (lever Action)
Jr Cadet

Jr Cadet is also an expierment, for anyone under age 14. It will be 22 or larger rifle. No one under age 14 can shoot pistols in Iowa.

Besides the category winners, their will be 2 awards for uniforms, 1 for best encampment. The division winner must be in uniform.

Folks,

This is exactly one of the things we'd like to get started - Department (regional) and Division (state) Musters based on the Grand Musters.  They don't have to be big affairs - just a single day shoot would do if that is all that could be arranged.  The idea is that we gather together in our uniforms, with our battle rifles, and have a fun and challenging shoot.  If you'd like to put on a Department or Division Muster, contact your Department commander.

Bristol Kid, the club I am in talks with, has the insurance, so we won't need to hike the cost of the shoot up. For a few dollars each, I will come up with some kind of an award.

Dusty,
I'm looking forward to signing up. I will have to check my schedule with my home NCOWS posse, The Blue River Regulators, to see what their schedule is for next year, but count me in.

There can only be one Division Of Iowa Muster, but there's nothing that says you can't have 2 GAF shoot's in one state. I think you should BOTH pursue holding a shoot with Dusty's being the Division shoot.
