Uff dah! Blood for Wotan!

Shoot on sight before he gets in throwing range, Marshal - that axe looks like it could leave a really ugly mark. ;D

Hmmm, maybe he should have read the SASS handbook on side matches or maybe I left something out in the translation to the Scandinavian version.

Somehow the head gear doesn't look quite right. too modern?.......Buck 8) ::) :-\
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

Frenchie

Looks good to me. I have a friend in the SCA and he had me looking at modern-made armor a while back. Yeah, right, like I'd be real dangerous wearing half my weight in steel and collapsing from heat stroke  ::)

Sides that them rich honeyaks that weared the armor we're a bunch a whiners.  They complained after matchlocks came out cause any ol' common peasant could be trained to shoot them in a hour or so.

Kinda like the Brits complainin' that the Americans were mean an aimed at offfficers. ;D

I attended a Scandinavian Mid-Summer Festival down in Oregon this year.  That's where I got that picture.  The guy is Norwegian and also a Vietnam Vet.  I tried that helmet on.  That sucker is heavy and you have limited side vision with it.  He has done a lot of research on the Vikings.  I asked him about those horned helmets that you've seen in the movies and TV.  He said they never wore those and it was pure fantasy out of "Hollyrude"  At the Danish food booth they had a dish called "Rod Kal" (sp?).  I asked what it was.  The man said "road kill".
