As I said in my earlier post I finished moving. My house deal almost crashed at the last minute, (lost $100,000 from appraised value 18 months ago). It kills me, but  the house dropped $60,000 of the $100,000 in the 5 months it was on the market! Then you add in  my three trips back with Penske pulling trailer, Truck and horse trailer with horse or dogs, and third vehicle, cost about $5,000 each.

Anyway, I took such a beating, I have to sell some guns,  >:( including my original 1860 Spencer .56-56 that I got from  Major2 (Roger Ragland), It  breaks my heart to sell it.  It will  include 70 rounds of ammo loaded with modified Starline 50-70 brass from BAC, Rapine 375 grain bullet, and 39 grain volume 777. The reloading dies and mold are NOT included, as they belong to a pard.

The neat thing about this Spencer is the movies it has been in.  It is one of the two used by Gregory Peck (as Lincoln) and Stacey Keatch shooting on the White House Lawn in "Blue and Grey." It was also in N&S II, N&S III, and a stack of other films.  Major2 can supply the details.

It is in great condition,  mottled patina, with a near mirror bore! The wood is sound and tight, and it is complete and all original except the S&S centerfire breech block.  It does not require an FFL to receive.  If your want trade/cash option, I can receive the Armi-Sport directly as I am still a product rep for Taylor's. I can take credit cards

I am offering it to the list for either $3500 (what I paid Major2 without the ammo) or $2300 and an ARMI SPORT Spencer (preferably in 44-40 OR 56-50).  If I get the cash and a Armi Sport, I will sell my iron frame Henry 44-40 military model and sling, as I could use the Armi Sport in CAS.

TWO Flints will post the pics I sent him.

Is it still available? I've been looking to obtain a real Spencer for a long time and wouldn't mind paying the $3500. The only stipulation is that it would be easier for me to pay via credit card after Oct 19th.

Cast 56-56 Bullets?  How many of those would I have to make for that Iron-Fram Henry in 44-40?  ;)

If someone needs some 56-56 cast lead, I can whip some up. 535370 Rapine, sized as cast. The last batch wasn't the prettiest, but they're shootable, and hard enough to crimp. Contact me off-list.

One CAUTION, Pards!  I'd change out that round nose steel follower in the magazine tube follower assembly BEFORE SHOOTING ANY CENTRAL FIRE CARTRIDGES!  S&S used to have a brass one with a flat or slightly cupped nose.  Even with the flatnose follower, be SURE your primers are BELOW the case head surface!  When I shoot mine, I can hear those rounds sliding back and forth in the magazine.  A magazine explosion COULD RUIN YOUR WHOLE DAY!   :'(

Your Pard,
Ride to the sound of the guns, but watch out for bushwhackers! Godspeed to all in harm's way in the defense of Freedom! God Bless America!

Trailrider,

BTW,

This has a flat nose follower.  The Spencer blow-up published a number of years ago in the "Camp Chase Gazette" belonged to my pard Hangin Judge Hemp (aka: Mike O'Harra). His son had it and got bucked off, the gun hit butt first, and blew up!
