Well, here is the results of today's casting session. Probably the last of the year from the looks of it. (I don't like casting outdoors in winter)

Anyhow, the EPP mold from Dick Dastardly casts RIGHT ON THE MARK!!! .454-.455" at the outside and .450" at the heal.
I can't wait to test these with my Walker, 1860 Army, and 58 Rems.

The Lee conical bullets are nice. They are .454" at the front and .442" at the heal... makes them REALLY nice for making paper cartridges.

I got about 100 of the Lee conicals. 100 of the EPP 150gr conicals. [I had 200 of other boolits that I had to cast up as well... non cowboy guns]

I find that "wiping" the Lee conicals with Lee Liquid Alox over the bullet after lubing with SPG keeps the SPG from flowing if it gets warm (85F). I will try this as well with the EPP boolit as well. Also, it keeps it from corroding and turning "chalky" while in storage.

If I can, I am going to try casting up some more Spencer 350gr boolits tomorrow...

Howdy Dakota,

Them lil EPP-UG boolits are meant to emulate round balls in fit and performance, but carry their own lube.  Hope you enjoy shootn' 'em as much as I do.

A quick photo of what fresh cast Lee 200gr (well, 196gr as cast with 20:1 alloy) .454 conicals look like.

I have a little over 100 usable  EPP boolits and another couple hundred of the Lee conicals for combustible cartridges.

I did test an EPP in my 58rem with the Kirst cylinder and a mild charge of 6.3gr of trailboss. NICE!!!

Now, if I can get outside on Sunday and let er rip from the Walker...

Them little rascals just got me a nice belt buckle. There is something different about a frontiersman shooting the little fellers that are cast from wheelweights. I got it, it is the ding hitting the steel, that's it.  ;D
