I can't seem to find it, but was there a post on CAS City some where about a guy that makes nice felt lined pistol cases?  I thought that he made both single and double cases.

Has anyone ever seen a pistol case that has an upper tray? Say...a pair of pistols in the bottom of the box, and a tray for ammo, cleaning supplies, a few tools, etc. that fits in the box and lifts out to get to the pistols? ???

Here's a over & under pistol case.  Not "hystericly" correct though.  Made it on the "cheap" for a pard of mine when I gave him a SASS membership and a pair of '51 Colts.  Came out pretty good.  Was a case for a cheapy set of utensils which I tossed out.  See at:  http://good-times.webshots.com/album/560074536BWeSay.  Good shootin', . . . :)
Beware the man with one gun, he probably knows how to use it.

That's a good case, Wolfgang. A good use for a silverware case. Ought to be able to find one at Goodwill os some similar place.

Not bad...not bad at all.  I was thinking more along the lines of converting an ol' wood ammo box into something for carrying guns on a gun cart.  I bought one at a antique show in Midland, MI last weekend for $15.  It's about 15"l x 12 1/2"w x 6"h.
Says "1000 SAVAGE 30-30 WINCHESTER 170GR.SOFT PT.  TOP NOTCH" on the ends and "SMALL ARMS AMMUNITION
SAVAGE ARMS CORPORATION  CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS., U.S.A." on the sides.  Doesn't have a lid, but shouldn't be hard to make one.  I imagine most of the crate lids were thrown away when they were opened.

Anyone have any idea how old this box may be? ???
