I posted this on the Longbranch, but didn't get any replies. I thought this would be a more approproiate forum. I am looking for a city marshal's badge, similar or identical to those used during the early 1880's in Tombstone - or the Earp era. Any help would be appreciated. I have checked all of the available repros on the market and nothing come close. Even Sar Packer dosen't have one. They do have a US Marshal's badge for Tombstone. I know they make nice products and may settle for that one. Thanks for your input.

The original badges were often locally-made by the town's jeweler, which is the case, here.

The 'generic' badge of the time frame was machine-made and usually made of nickel silver or nickelled brass, and originals will have the manufacturer on the reverse.

Try 'The Fort' in Lincoln, Nebraska, as they have a selection of badges - though the supplier's name eludes me.

You can reach them toll-free at - 1-877-907-3678 X199 - ask for Terry or Glen.

Vaya,
