Ottawa Creek Bill

We had a pretty good turn out Saturday for our meeting to show members our shooting facilities. 15 members showed up and we spent about a hour or so looking over the range. Some couldn't make it because of work scheduling and my daughter and son in law were at the NASCAR races in Tenn.

We also had five new members join who will be sending their information to NCOWS for new family memberships in the next week or so, one Robert Browning who by the way is 78 has already sent his in.. These are brand new NCOWS members. This will give us approximately 28 members as of this date.

Tony and Dave Hollandsworth have been busy making targets and we now have enough targets for at least four stages...we should have the rest finished by our inaugural shoot next month Sept. 22nd. Hopefully we'll have all the debris cleared for shooting lanes by that time.

We've Sent the money in for our insurance premium ($681.00), and we've opened a checking account in our posse's name.

I've e-mailed George Warnick with our contact information and shooting schedule to be posted on the NCOWS web page.

For the time being anyone interested can contact me at bill@surf-ici.com

We're getting there!!! ;D

That is good news indeed.
It sounds like your posse will have a high percentage of family memberships.

Deadeye Don

Bill Proctor and the Hollandsworth brothers have been working really hard to get this new posse started.  We are starting from ground zero basically so all the work they have done thus far is much appreciated by me as well as others.  The area is beautiful  with lots of mature trees.  The long distance range is wonderful. We may be able to shoot up to 1200 yards eventually.  I am not even sure I can see that far.   :o   At any rate I am looking forward to our first shoot.

Howdy!

It's really starting to come together and the first shoot is scheduled for September.  I was at the range for our impromptu BP shoot about a month ago and happily was able to take my brother-in-law and one of my nephews - both of whom came over from Scotland to attend my son's wedding last month.  They had a BLAST.  Literally!  ;) ;D  Unfortunately, I had to miss this last meeting, but as Deadeye Don said, it's a really nice, beautiful spot - and it has LOTS of possibilities.

Dave & Tony, "The Notorious Hollandsworth Brothers"  have been really cutting a lot of steel to make targets, and through the efforts of another pard, "J.R.Logan", (John Lay) our target inventory has swelled.  We all (Dave, J.R. and I) met during the short-lived era of the Indy-based Circle C Cowboys, a SASS club that didn't make it  :(  but the club donated their remaining targets to the SMVS !!  Very Generous!

I'm personally really looking forward to the anticipated "woods walk" shoot that is being planned!
