Does anybody have any suggestions for a vendor for holster for 1911? Being left handed, one that sits on my port side would be good.

You didn't say whether you wanted it for CAS or modern carry.

If you want it for CAS, such as a Wild Bunch Match, I can recommend the Pike holster by San Pedro Saddlery.

As for a more modern holster - lots of folks will make them left handed if you ask - or check their catalog/website.  However, I like to check them out at a gunshow or gunstore to make sure they feel right instead of ordering one from a catalog or off the net.

My personal favorite is the "Tom Threepersons" from El Paso Saddelry  www.epsaddelry.com  though for more authenticity I also have their 1912 Pershing rig.
Civilize them with a Krag . . .

Try www.ima.com.  They have a wide selection of US holsters at a reasonable price.  I've got one of their M1917 Holsters for my Colt M1909 and it is beautiful.  I also have one of their M1916 hip holsters and it is a quality piece of work.  As they have them in stock, you can get them within a couple of weeks, as compared to ElPaso's six month wait.

I have one of El Paso's M1917/1942 holsters that is also well made and an equal to anything I've gotten from IMA, just had to wait six months for it.
Listen!  Do you hear that?  The roar of Cannons and the screams of the dying.  Ahh!  Music to my ears.
