Has Uberti ever made the `60 or `66 chambered in the 44spl cartridge?

In the Henry it is rare.. Bootsie (on this BB) has an Iron Frame one ,however I believe he special ordered it at Gardone, while he was touring the Uberti Factory.
I remember, in the early 80's you could get a 44 rimfire in the Henry ( I'll bet they are rare too )
I've seen the 66 chambered is 38 Spcl., 44 spcl , 44/40 , and 45 Colt.

BTW ...there are some (here) who have converted the 44/40's to 44 Spcl. ( Bootsie's other Henry is a conversion )
Ottawa Creek Bill & Halfway Creek Charlie are converting their Henry's to 44 Flat ( in another thread )

Thanks Pardners, I would like a `66 in 44spl as I have alot of brass and reloader for it.
Now I need to keep my eye out for one. I have a never fired= new in box `66 short rifle in 45lc to trade if anyone out there is so inclined.
Thanks again.

I have a 66 in .44 Spl.  Goes great with my Open Tops in same.  Had a .44-40 Henry chamber sleeved to that cartridge.  It is a great cartridge, easy to load and shoot.

I've wondered about this as well.  I would like a 66 in .44 Special so I can shoot .44 Colt in it to match my '72 Open Top.  At one time, Cimarron listed them on their website, but it looks like they have dropped them (if they ever really had them in stock).  I have looked on Gunbroker and Auction Arms for one for quite a while, but I have never seen one.

I SAW ONE AT MY LOCAL GUN SHOP WHEN I BOUGHT MY "66" THIS WAS TWO YEARS AGO 2005...THEY HAD TWO RIFLES ONE IN .44SPL AND ONE IN .45LC...YES, YOUR RIGHT, I BOUGHT THE .45LC NOW,THE RIFLE I BOUGHT WAS MADE IN 2003 SO...I WOULD GUESS THE .44SPL "66" WAS AT LEAST THAT OLD CAUSE I HAVEN'T SEEN A "66" IN THAT CAL.SINCE THEN... FOR WHAT THAT'S WORTH. DUSTY. PS: MAJOR 2 IS CORRECT ABOUT THE CAL'S OFFERED IN THE "66' YELLOWBOY....I WOULD GUESS YOU COULD ORDER THE "66" IN 44SPL BUT I WOULD BET THE WAIT IS AT LEAST ONE YEAR.

Cimarron carries the '66 and '73 in .44 Spcl, and they have a number of them in stock now (the Buffalo Arms guns are Cimarrons).  I got one of the first .44 Spcl '66's in seven years ago and it has never let me down.  Some of them will also handle .44 Colt out-of-the-box, while others require some tweaking.

They also imported a handful (nine) of .44 Spcl Henries three years ago or so.  I've heard that Taylors had some as well, but I'm not sure.  They haven't been able to get any more yet, though.

I hope that eventually Uberti "listens" to these forums and produces a stock carrier for the 60 and 66 that handles .44 Russian.  Would be an easy thing with the .44 Spl. rifles, and a bit more of a hassle for the .45s and .44-40s.  Yes, I know The Smith Shop sells them, but it would be nice to just order extra "parts" instead of having custom work done.  Benn watching with interest the topic of converting the .45 Colt rifles to .44 Henry Flat.  Uberti maybe needs a Custom Shop.

Dusty ,
I'm still on track to convert my 45LC Henry to 44 Henry Flat C.F. (or as close to it as I can get without having to buy $1.10 each brass that won't accept the 248 Grn modified nose Old West Bullet. (44 Russian Cases are getting the nod, but when I do mine I'll leave the chamber a bit longer to accept the 44 Rem/Colt C.F. as well, so my Henry will be a two caliber shooter; 44 Henry Flat C.F. when I shoot my C & B pistolas, and 44 Rem/Colt C,F. When I shoot my Remy original Conversions. The difference in Chamber length is only about 1/8-3/16" . I personally do not think the "free space"(it's the same as the jump space in a cylinder) will affect the 44 Henry Flat Round. It may produce more blow back, but I guess I'll find out. As a side note all the bullets will be modified nose type.

Charlie:
I gotta hand it to you and Ottawa Creek Bill.  I would probably not go to those lengths for that level of accuracy.  But I think I am getting pretty close to the "spirit" of it with the .44 Russian conversion.

Dusty,
Tha's basically what I'll end up with , only with the oustside lubed .451 Dia Bullet.
