Does anyone know if R&D and/or Kirst cylinders work in the new forged frame Remingtons? I've read that the dimensions of the new guns are a bit different.

Thank you. That answers my question.

So, how do I order a "forged frame" model Kirst in .38 Special? I doubt that River Junction will know what I'm talking about. Does anyone know how to contact Walt Kirst?

From Walt Kirst:

We have already modified the foot height to accommodate the new Forged Frame Remington. This modification may require a very small amount of filing on the foot to fit freely into the older Uberti cast frame revolvers.

All you need to do is order a Remington Konverter for Uberti and follow the installation instructions.

Thanks for your inquiry.

But the Kirst "Civil War" Cylinders have not yet been modified. From Walt Kirst:

The current "Civil War" K-Rings in stock are not adjusted for the Forged Frame; we will include this change the next run of CW's. It is actually quite easy to adjust the old configuration to the Forged Frame. If you know a good welder you can have them weld two small beads on the outer ends of the foot; it only requires about .020" of bead height; and file to fit. Another way is to take a ¼" diameter, flat nose punch and a hammer and swedge the outer ends of the foot to raise the height about .015" on each end.
