I'm trying to find a wore out pair of Yankee (Kersey blue) pants; 36 inch waist.

This is for a new character I'm working on.  I have everything except a much worse for the wear pants.

Frenchie;

That sounds great.  However I really don't want to pay new price for a wore out pair.  I will give a little something though.

Books:  CHeck ebay.  THere's some uniform sets being sold that were wore for some reenactment or movie or something.  They're cheap.  Or were.  69.00 for assortment atm.

No way I'd let someone demand the price of a new pair! I'll say it's for a living history presentation and the asking price ought to be little more than cost of shipping.

By the way, Kersey is a weave, not a color. It has a noticeable double wale texture. The official Army name for the color was sky blue. It was originally supposed to be made of a dark blue warp and  a white weft which appeared at a distance to be a light blue, but in practice this was almost never done; instead, the material was dyed in lots. Generally, the lighter shades were made into trousers, darker ones went to make overcoats (greatcoats), and of course the dark blue was for fatigue blouses. *whack!* Ow... My Lovely Bride just smacked me and got me out of Lecture Mode... thanks, Honey... I think...

River City John

Good luck on your mission, Books, to find the most disreputable pair of trowsers.

Just remember what Grannie said when describing the 'used' pair of trowsers she had to resort to wearing, something about feeling like a swarm of hogs just moved out of her britches. . .

I've got a nibble, he wants to know "How much would be a reasonable price?? How torn up can they be?"

I'm thinking $ 10-15.

Torn &/or holes, but patchable; stained is okay.

Does that sound reasonable?
