is just that, a myth!  I was finally able to make it out to the range. With the help of Badlands Bud, we were able to test it out with cowboy guns.

I had previously mentioned that I noticed .22 splits were slower than with bigger calibers at a Steel Challenge match.  Now we've tested it with Ruger Vaquero's in 38 spl.

On Average, the light load splits were 0.02 seconds slower than with a moderate load.

The light load was a 125gr bullet at approx 500 fps.  The moderate load was a 125gr bullet at approx 725fps.

Splits were between 2 18x24 inch targets at 7 yards.

Maybe this will help put some of this issue to bed.
