I remember this movie from back when I was a teen saw it once friend of mine had it on VHS or Beta few years later.

only thing I really remember of the plot was this man jones catching and breaking a buffalo and doing some riding and shooting. I know I should have asked everyone to build a time machine to go back and think on this one.

I guess they never heard of Buffalo Jones?  BTW, Wainwright Alberta is now a major Canadian military base and still commemorates the Cattalo with several place names.  I've spent a lot of time there when I served.
