That's mighty interesting. I wonder how the cylinder pin is kept in. Thanks for the link.

May have a retaining screw angling up from the front, like the pre-crossbolt Colts, but that's the only view of the gun missing.

Lord, that's SAD!

Yeah,  mebbe someone should buy it and put it out of it's misery (i.e.  restore it to it's original size).  Then the gun would be happy.  :)

Maybe it was a project for the class: "How-To-Screw-Up-The-Most-Beautiful-Revolver-Ever-Designed 101".

God, that thing is hideous.

I would have to agree.  Why do that to a beautiful gun?

That is just soooo wrong!!!!!  Too bad the guy didn't put a hole in his head instead of one in the wall.

That looks like my next project for this winter.  A Remmi belly gun.  Yeeehah!
Listen!  Do you hear that?  The roar of Cannons and the screams of the dying.  Ahh!  Music to my ears.

Please tell me you're joking so I can wrest that image from my mind.

At least that one still had a bit of a barrel.  I have seen Colt percussion revolvers with no barrel, but just a cylinder held in place so basically the ball just comes out of the cylinder hole and goes flying.  I would assume you would practically have to  be inches away from your target to hit it.   Safe shooting.  Deadeye.

My question is, why did they even go to the trouble of installling a front sight? :D

I spent some time photoshopping pictures of the 75 and 90 Remington into birdshead grips and short barrels, and combinations and it never looked right.  You can cut the Colt SAA to a snubby like the Shopkeeper and even screw on birdshead grips and it looks fine, but the Remington simply refuses to look good when cut down, so I never did it.
