I was just on the Cabela's website and I see that they have it listed as "Out of stock, Cannot Re-order". That means if you want one of these, you gotta visit a Cabela's store that still has them in-stock.

These are a sweet and exciting pistol, and very fun to shoot- get one while you can! They are made by Pietta.

John, It could also mean that they don't sell enough of them so they are not going to restock it. You may want to check with other distr. Mike

Make your own.  I did 30years ago an' if I can, anybody can.

Thanks for the replies folks.  I already have one- I'm just letting everyone know what's up with these.   I have never seen these available anywhere else but Cabela's.

Also, They are/were priced at $149.99, whereas the regular 1860 is $184.99; No sense in buying a $185 dollar gun in order to make a $150 dollar gun (and then have to put the front sight back on it, to boot).

OUTLAW

Well, this topic may have got too old, but I bought one right about the time of the next most recent post here, but when I got it, the finish on the cylinder wasn't the greatest.  Seemed to have a couple scratches.  And when I wanted to give it it's first cleaning, I can't get the wedge out to dissassemble it.  Even broke the spring out of the wedge trying.  Now I want to return it for exchange, Cabelas is out again, and no longer available.

Any one else?

VTI Gun Parts have 3" barrels. Made one up, but had to fit a new wedge in the barrel.

I got one a couple of months ago from VTI (after being backordered for about 4 months) and got the barrel wedge, too, but I don't think the wedge fits - at least I don't seem to be able to compress the spring and insert the wedge into the frame.  But then, I never was really good at handywork like that.

I had to file and stone the wedge about .015 to fit. I use the old wedge and barrel as a guide with my dial calipers . And meaured the new barrel and the wedge came out .015 smaller. It took about 2 hours of trial fitting to get it correct.
