I spoke with Cimarron today and there are several big shipments of guns coming in the next month or so. I have a feeling that we're going to see some Richards Type II models FINALLY!! Since August is a month of vacation, i.e., shutdown, in Italy I'm hoping some will be "on the boat".  ;)  So for those of you who have blown your money on other things and are high on the list for one in .44 Colt I'd be willing to make the sacrifice and take your spot.  ;D :D ;)

What were the original chamberings for the Richards type 2 ?

All three Richards Models were 'only' chambered in 44 Colt.

Model 1 is what OCB has created for himself.  It used the original barrel and an attached ejector; the original cylinder bored through(and then a slightly larger diameter new made cylinder); the firing pin was rebounding in the recoil plate; the rear sight on the recoil ring; and it had a collar around the cylinder.  This one has not been reproduced in quantity.

Model 2 is what is now coming out.  It has an ejector on the original styled barrel; new made cylinder; the firing pin is in the hammer; rear sight back on hammer like originally; and there is no collar around the cylinder.

Model 3 is the RM.  It had a new made barrel with the ejector; new made cylinder; the firing pin in the hammer; rear sight back on hammer like originally; and no collar around the cylinder.  This was the first style to reproduced by Cimarron and still is being.  This is the 1860Richards/Mason (1860 RM).
