Finally after all these years I have me a mate to my 51 silver back strap. MERCY  what pretty color case harding.
That silver sure sets these 51's off.

I took them up to Payson this weekend and shot them. Used #10 cci caps and flat fired the crap out of them. This new one has had nothing done to it whatsoever.Stock nipps and all. I shot about 6 cylinders full from each with no misfires or cap jams.!!!

I think I have a pair of winners here.

Mason ;D ;) ;D

Well now, eyes be happy for ya Pard.   :) :)  Got to love it when it all comes together.

I've had a couple of long runs with my C&B but never got through an entire match without at least one cap malfunction.  As I think back I'm sure I shot one match with only one cap failure and I recapped on the clock to finish the stage.  No doubt an operator error when capping at the loading table.   :o :-[

MS,
I think the trick with these 2nd Gens 51 Navies is to carefully check the spent cap channel. On both of my 2nd Gen. 51 Navies, there was a bit of casting flash or machining flash just where the hammer falls thru the frame on the right side. Just a mere bump or so. I dressed these both down when I first took them down to clean and lightly stone(boy it didn't take much at all as the inner surfaces of the frame were smooth like a baby's backside).

I shot them in a match and did 4 stages and nary a misfire or spent cap in the works, those that fell oof left and those that didn't fall off stayed put.. and nary a slowdown either. I also use #10 Caps by CCI as that is all I can get here.

I use only Olive oil and Bore Butter.

The preceding comment was only a joke.  Had it been a real statement, you'd have been informed how to poke the poster in the nose.  :P  ;D
