Anybody know why these don't come in 44-40?  Why would you sell one Remington repro in .357, 44-40 & .45 and then sell another in only .45?  They even make
'58 Conversions in 44-40!
I would love to have one of these as a back up to my '75s but I don't want it in another caliber.

These are very low production guns.  And for every .44-40 sold Uberti probably sells 100 .45s.  My guess is its purely a business decision.

What I want to know is why they dont they drop the color case on the 75's and offer an all blue model! I'd only buy seven!

They used to sell the blued ones and not the CC. I wanted a blued one so I bought an 1890 which was blued and changed the ejector housing to the 1875. I also took off the lanyard ring.

The original 1875 Remington frame was blued, with a color cased hammer and loading gate.  Why the loading gate is a question.....

Yep, as a side note they were also availible by request with a nickel plated frame only OR fully nickeld. I think what this thread boils down to is if these companies go through the trouble making these replicas 98% authentic, why the heck not go all the way!? Maybe the industry needs a better way to comunicate with the consumers in a more up to date way. For example after they sell their quota of 45colt 1890's ask if theres intrest in a 44-40. I'd like it if every mfg had a website with a forum that once a month a rep would get on there and answer questions. They could also list the guns they had in stock. Maybe someday  ::)

I did as Marshal Will Wingham did; I bought Uberti 1890 Remington's in 44-40, blue, and changed out the '90 ejector support
for the '75 ejector support. I just bought my second one, from www.gunbroker.com/   They're not always available, but keep looking....I did, and now I got 2!

I got around this by antiquing mine. It's now a beautiful plum brown-blue, with no pitting.
