I gots a question for the Remington gurus.  Was the 1875 or 1890 ever made in .38-40?  and are there any reproductions made in .38-40?  I just thought they would match up great with an original winchester '92 in that caliber, if I would ever got one.

Thanks

According to my copy of the Blue Book of Gun Values, the 1875 was made in ".44 or .45 Centerfire cal.", the 1888 in ".44 Centerfire cal.", and the 1890 in ".44 Centerfire cal.".

According to my copy of the Standard Catalog of Firearms, the 1875 was made in ".44 Remington or .44-40 or .45 caliber." and the 1890 in ".44-40".

Hope this helps.

You may want to check with Cimarron Arms as to whether they offer the '75 or '90 in 38-40 caliber,......

But at Taylor's website, they are offering the '58 Remington conversion with 8" barrel in 38-40 caliber.

Who knows when they'll ever get them from Uberti,...but they've got it listed here...model #1003

Thanks for the info guys.  I thought that might be the case.  A good historicly accurate set would have to be in .44-40 if I want to have rifle and pistol the same.  Someday....
