The Proof House has info on production dates of the 2nd 51s, but not 61 or 60.  Anyone know what year a black box 61 with 410** SN was made?  These any good?

Thanks for the info Dusty! My guestimations on my 2nd Gens were correct.
I believe this is the "F" series? Correct? if so. It should say on the box.

Here's all I could find in "The Bluebook of Modern Blackpowder Arms" online subscription.
1861 NAVY
- .36 cal. perc., 7.5 in. round barrel, creeping loading lever, six shot cylinder roll engraved with naval battle scene, "F" Series Colt Blue barrel and cylinder, case hardened frame, loading lever, plunger, and hammer, silver plated brass backstrap and trigger guard, one-piece walnut stocks, 42 oz. 3,166 mfg. 1980-81.
Grading   100%   98%   90%   80%
     $500      $365       $265    $225
           Last MSR was  $420.

Must be 1980 or 1981 Huh? actually that should nail it down pretty close for ya!

Thanks Charlie:
Being insane, I an seriously considering buying a 2nd Gen. 61 to go with my 2nd Gen. 51.  Then sell (at a loss, mind you) my Uberti and ASM 61s.  Maybe I need someone to manage my budget for me and give me an allowance!

Dusty,
I know the feeling. I , too always have to give someting I like up in order to upgrade my collection. Sometimes at a loss and sometimes I break even, and once or twice I might make a nickel or a dime on one. I guess it's the name of the game.
I'd sell my Uberti's and ASM's and Pietta's to replace them with 2nd Gen Colts and original Remy Conversions too...oh! Wait!  I just did. LOL!
Actually I'll stay in the hunt for another 4 digit 2nd Gen '51 and a 5 digit one, then maybe a couple of 2nd Gen '60 armies.(love those 44's).

This IS an Allfiction that never ends. At least my Grand Nephew will have a good collection when he turns 21 long after I'm gone...maybe, he's 3. LOL

And I also like the idea of having two mismatched c&b revolvers for Frontiersman.  Just seems right somehow.  Same size balls and caps at least.

Nevermind!  I have put the two 61 navies up for sale.  Got a bite on the Uberti, but not the ASM so far.
