Taurus in coming out with the Tunderbolt and the Gaucho in 2005, what do you think?

Be interesting to see what the MSRP is on those when they finally hit the streets.  I plan on sticking with my Remington pistols but that rifle...

Last gun rag release I read said Taurus was targeting the Thunderbolt for around $550.00 to 575.00. It will be offered in blue and stainless steel with the stainless being a little more expensive. I think there are quite a few folks wanting to get a look at this rifle. If it performs reliably I can see one in stainless 44-40 or maybe 38 spl. following me home.

My feelings are the same as many on that Lightening.  If the reports are good ... then ya all will be reading about my 1860 Henry on the Trader pages. Corn shuckers and me have been friends since I was a little tike.

So far everything I've read about the T-bolt has been favorable.
The problems that plagued the AWA performance has been eliminated because the interior design is an improvement over the original, not a replica thereof.

I full well intend to have the 24" octagonal .45 in stainless... but NOT until they've been in the market in large numbers for at least six months.

Y' see, I'm one of them old timers that thinks a gun should work FINE, right out of the box, without tweaking, sending it back for repairs or replacement... so I'll gauge its performance on the feedback I hear and read before shelling out the money.
But I WILL have one!

I will be considering Gauchos in 45 LC and a T-Bolt too.  I might even get a 45 LC Tracker also.

No worries BJD.

I promise I'll give you weekly status reports starting the day I pick up my stainless .45LC rifle, and I'll let you know when your six-month waiting period is over.

I already have one on order. My dealer said Taurus told him a MSRP of $450.00 for the blue.

I am hearing that a realistic price will be about $379.00.  The rumour is that Taurus is going to sell direct to chain stores.  It would be nice to walk in to K's Merchandise and buy a Thunderbolt.

My gunshop said the same thing as his Lordship.  $370-$380 retail.  I'm trying to decide between one of these or a Marlin Levergun.  It will be interesting to see if the $A$$ Mothership OK's them for use at their matches.

It was my understanding that the were all ready approved, and if not you can still use them around here, right along with your Henry Big Boy..... :o

Talked with our TG at Saturdays shoot & he said the Thunderbolt had not yet been approved and was not on the agenda. He also said that if it looks like the pic on their website he could see no reason why it would not be approved.

ONLY the 22 from Taurus is approved. The Thunderbolt doesn't even exist yet, kind of hard to approve what doesn't exist.  They have been talked about so much though that I believe they will be produced.  I want the Gauchos to be produced.  I am not hearing a lot of talk about them though.  I wonder if they will be ready in time for the SHOT show?

I went to the Taurus website and looked at the pictures of the Thunderbolt. Very Nice!!  It sounds like they are certainly going to produce it. The Goucho was not so impresive, looked like it had a dull finish like the Rodeo. We'll hope it is just a bad picture. However, I don't like that it and the Thunderbolt are only being offered in 45. We need to contact Taurus and tell them to make a 44-40, at least. I would definitley buy one.
