There was a question about timing on black powder revolvers on one of the forums.
I don't remember which forum it was but I responded that working with a new hand was the easiest fix.
I have not been able to shoot for over a month because of eye surgery. Our local group is going to have an all BP shoot this coming Sat and I will attend.
I went back and picked up my 1860s and cycled the action several times. One of them refused to lock the cylinder in firing position. In a panic, I disassembled it and found the problem. I had broken the guns down a month ago and gave them a good soak knowing that I would not shoot them for a while. When I reassembled the offending gun I had neglected to throughly tighten the screw that holds the trigger/bolt spring. There was simply not enough pressure on the bolt to hold it in place in the cylinder.
Something to look for.

Good suggestion, Nozzie.  It never hurts to double check.
