Hey Charlie:
You buy the one on Gunbroker?  I hovered over it for a few days.

Halfway Creek Charlie

Yep I did. I slobbered over it thru 3 postings and then jumped on it. I slobbered over the 3 others out there (Auction Arms and Guns America) the other 3 were out of my reach today. But this one wasn't Two were "F" series in cases and one was a US Grant Commerative.

AZMIKE told me the S/N and I decided to go for it. He says the pictures don't do it justice. It should be here Monday.

Myles:
Get a pair of Open Tops in .44 Special.  Then you can shoot .44 Spl., Colt and Russian.  The Russian gets pretty dang close to the .44 Henry RF.  Heck, while you are at it, send the Henry off and have it chamber lleeved for .44 Spl. and buy a spare carrier to handle the Russian.  I mean, what better spend your money on?  ;) ;D

That's an idea but I think instead of spending money on modifing the Henry I will just get an Improved Henry in .44 Special. I haven't searched the old posts here but I would probably be a fair way to the new (or used) 1866 in .44 Special by the time I modify the Henry. The '72 Open Tops in .44 Special will go well with the Yellow Boy. ;)

As for the Henry I will either match it will something in .44-40 (that's where the Conversions come in) or just use cap and ball with it. The sensible thing is to get 1851 or 1861 Colt Navys to go with the Henry, that way the grips will match the '72 Open Tops and also the SAA clones I will use in B-Western. Not being a sensible man if I don't go with the Remington Conversion I think I'll go with a Remington cap and ball revolver to partner up with the Henry. Variety being the spice of life and all that. I will be in less of a rush when shooting Frontiersman so I don't think the different handling charecteristics of the Remmys will be a huge disadvantage, especially since they have a few things in their favor when shooting a match!  I thought about a Spiller & Burrs to go with the Henry but doubt my impression of a Yankee would end up with a pair of them!

When I talk with my friends that are not gun nuts(yes,I have some)I get this look  ::)at other times, I get this look :o but, I must say, I really like the "58"Remy with the conversion cylinder. Yes,I'm hooked! Dusty. PS: I also like my OT in .38 cal. nice font Charlie.
