I have been interested in the Man with No Name pistol and have been saving for a pair.
The first ones came with no rear sights no problem dont need them at cas distances.
Yesterday I saw some up close pictures of the new Man with no name pistol.
Text says Drift adjustable rear sight. with a clear picture of it.
Guess my dream is dead, who wants to shoot and opentop frame , cap and ball barrel , revolver in modern class only.
Do uberti engineers look at sass classifications. Seems like they should as it would seem to be their primary market.

Sweettooth,

Don't mean to spoil your day, but, a dovetail installed, drift-able rear sight on a conversion does NOT make it a "Modern" firearm for SASS.  It is still a conversion and is still OK for any category you want to shoot in.
Keep Saving for those Man With No Name guns.

Thanks for the info Mr. Coffinmaker
I dont say much on any site but your posts are some of the ones I read carefully.
It amazes me how much information the Sass and Ncows members are willing to share.
Thats why I read but dont talk, I dont know much .

Howdy Sweettooth,
Here's the wordage that Coffinmaker is referring to in the SASS Shooters Handbook, under "Revolver - Traditional Category" :
"Allowed Exceptions - Original opentop cartridge revolvers, cap and ball revolvers, cartridge conversion revolvers, and their modern reproductions may have either a dovetail front or rear sight, and they must conform to the types commonly found on the originals.  Any other revolver by whatever manufacturer or model that has either a dovetailed or screw adjustable front or rear sight, whether moveable or adjustable, is a Modern category revolver."

Say, where did you see a pic of the new ones with the dovetailed sight?  I'm hoping it doesn't spoil the lines of the pistola.  Wouldn't mind adding one of those to my stable of '51 conversions  ;D

Abilene: here is a pic of the Man with no Name pistol taken at the recent EXA gun show in April: you can see the dovetailed rear sight. Hope that helps.

Looks like a nice sight, and it's probably better than the notch in the hammer.  No more obtrusive than the rear sight on the 1872 OT.  Wonder if VTI has them?

The ' Man with No Name' stands on the top of  my wishlist.
With or without the Rattle Snake grip inlay?

Mine too. Thats the gun that started my love for Conversions. That and the one that Selleck carries in Last Stand At Saber River

Howdy! Joel Rezac has a pair with the Snakes on opposite sides (one for the left holster & one for the right) he is selling them as a set only. I don't know for sure if they are consective serial numbered but if you are interested contact him at 402-784-3557 or philrezac@yahoo.com I believe he has them priced at aprox. $1000.00 as the silver inlayed snakes add $125.00 a piece to them, and they are put on in Texas.
