Some of your Remington guys educate me on Piettas 'old silver' frame please?

And Pietta quality as compared to Uberti ?

I would suspect Pietta comes in a good way below, yes ?

Thank you.

Not since they put in the new CNC machinery. The Pietta's I've owned (and still have) have all been comparable to Uberti's in fit, finish and function (since 2000-2001) You will get a bad one from any mfg. depending whether it's a friday, Monday or Wednesday gun....LOl Only reason i sold the ones I did was that I have small hands and they are for sure bigger in the grip area and rear of frame(on the Remy's) than the Uberti, and the Uberti is bigger in that area than the Euroarms which is closer to original Remy size all over, but is a copy of a Remington-Beals Old Model Army instead of the NMA.

Buy from Cabelas if it doesn't suit you they'll take ti back and send you another....sometimes before the reject is sent back.
Old Silver I believe is a high polish in the white steel. It is not Stainless.

I`ve heard the Pietta Old Silver is a nickel plate over a brass frame ....Might want to check into it if you plan on useing a conversion cylinder ........ it would stop me from buying one .

Fall Creek Suttlery sells a old silver by pietta.
website is :
http://www.fcsutler.com/fccwrevolvers.asp

on their website they describe the gun as the following:

.44 cal pietta, beautiful reproduction features a fulley engraved polished white metal frame. blued barrel and blue cylinder.
works with r&d conversion cylinder to fire 45 long colt cartridges.

I happen to own one of these guns with a kirst convesion cylinder. it hits poa with no problems.
I have shot .45 long colt with 250 grain bullets and bp. also have used the cowboy 45 special with 200 grain bullets and bp.
each shot has hit poa without any adjustment to sights.
I have only run about 200 rounds max through my old silver.
its now just sitting colleting dust because i purchased a ruger old army and just love it.
My old silver is up for sale if anyone is interested send me a email or pm. i will sell it with the conversion cylinder also.
