Went to the post office this afternoon and my new Colt was there.

Pretty nice pistola. never fired, never turned, still had factory grease in it and the action was full of it. Took it apart and cleaned it up. stoned the action. The hammer had some Back'ards movement to fire, so i took care of that too. Now she has a nice trigger pull and is smoooth.

Very nice.  That is the best repro ever made, and is probably better than the originals, the steel certainly is.  I have one and I love it.

I also have a 2nd gen 1860 which is excellent, and a 3rd gen Signature Series 1860 which is, by comparison, junk.

Seth, my 3rd gen 1860 came in the box with a loose cylinder arbor, out of time and not nearly the fit and finish of my 2nd gen.  The color case is beautiful, the rest was over polished, and polished disassembled, as the edges of the mating parts are rounded instead of being polished as an assembly to keep everything flat.

The "spiral" grease groove on the cylinder arbor is instead a series of irregularly spaced cuts, there is no capping groove.  Details all over are wrong, as the size of the lettering, etc.

Both my 1851 and 1860 2nd gens are almost perfect guns, so I was disappointed in the Sig Series gun.

I have corrected the timing with a new bolt, replaced the hammer with an Uberti part, and shoot it with an Uberti cylinder.
