Two Flints

Hello SSS,

I received permission from Richard Pumerantz, Owner of Ten-X Ammunition, to post some of the loading information he uses when making 56-50 BP and Smokeless Cartridges.  Thought this would be of interest to you.  Two Flints

I don't sell the cases we ship our finished 56-50 cartridges in. However, They are available from Berry's Mfg. item 454 (50AE).  As for the loading data, here is what I am allowed to say. For the BPC version, we use Triple Se7en black powder substitute from Hodgdon. We follow Hodgdon's specific loading procedures for this powder. As for the smokeless version, I can only say that we use a Hodgdon powder. I am not allowed to give out the specific powder or load. We have had success with most primers.

We use 350gr RNFP bullets from RedLine Ballistics (A.M. Precision) in San Diego. RedLine offers their bullet both in a lubed/sized version and in an "as cast" version. In a secondary process, we have our bullets coated with a proprietary coating we call "Slick Silver" that eliminates bore fouling and increases velocity without additional pressure. The coating serves as a lube and none other is required.

Our brass is usually Starline, although we have had some production runs with our own headstamp from Jamison. Right now we are using Starline.

I hope this information is helpful to you and those on your SSS discussion Forum.
