I'm highly considering picking one of the 2nd models up just for fun, especially since for a nib gun they don't cost a whole lot  (I see conversion cylinder down the road).  I was just wondering how well they stand up to consistent full power charges in terms of loosening up or parts breakage compared to something like an SAA.  I like how they weigh 4 pounds and take a considerable charge of black powder, that just seems like fun to me, but I don't really want to buy one if they're fragile (the whole barrel wedge thing is somewhat un-nerving for those of us who aren't familar with the colt percussion design).  I know I could get a ruger old army and be relatively trouble free, but the open top colt designs are more attractive to me.

IMHO if you stick to FFg powder and round ball you could load max loads all day long without worry. A lot of Walkers get stretched because people put 50-55 grs 3Fg and eventually the wedge pin cutout on the cylinder pin stretches and the gun get a huge cylinder gap. Do not use max loads of 777 either. I shoot 44grs of FFg in the Walkers and 40grs in the Dragoon with FFg & wadded ball.

Since I have 14+ guns, I've been called the Imelda Marcos of Cap&Ball. Now, that's a COMPLIMENT!
