I read a lot about people shooting the '75s in .45 or 44-40 but was wondering if many shoot them in .357??  I am thinking about getting a pair in 5 1/2.  I wouldn't mind having the 44-40s but am already set up for the .357s in my other stuff (guns, leather, rounds, etc).  Just wondering!

The only thing I find different, other than recoil, is that the .357 barrel is significantly heavier. It does change the balance, but the pistol works fine either way. My '58's have been sleeved to .357 so I can shoot .38 spl loads in them. They work great and shoot just like my .45's. If you're already set up for .357, go that way. If you want a little lighter feel to balance them, you can always change the ejector housing to the 1890 ones and that will take some of the weight off the barrel end.

I picked up a pair of 1875's in .357 w/ 7 1/2" barrels last July. I love um. They shoot dead on and are very reliable. I use 158 gr. rnfp in .38 special.

I have an 1890 in 357, and even with the shorter barrel it's heavy, but a 75 would be a lot heavier...

Have a 7 1/5" Uberti 1875 in .357.....I don't use it much, but my nephew likes it.
It is a tad heavy. works well with BP.
