OK,

Here's the deal. I have a Remington 1890 that I have been waiting on the webbing for 2 years for, the end goal was to always have a pair of 1875's. So, with that said, does anybody know if I could take a pair of Uberti Webbings and put them on my pistols and if they will fit. These pistols I am talking about are extremely authentic well made high quality Remington repros. Has anybody tried this and will they fit?

Thanks

No flaming please nor "raging at the machine." Not trying to throw anybody under the bus, just want a pair of 1875's.

Do I understand that they're NOT Ubertis?

If not, then I'd find someone (like me - if we lived closer  :( ) who'd be willing to remove the web from a gun and simply try the Uberti part on your gun.  If I recall, the web is held on by one screw at the muzzle end and the frame end has a slot or post that fits into the frame which holds it still.

Richard, I HOPE to be at the NCOWS Nationals - will you?  I will undoubtedly have at least one of my 1875s if you haven't gotten it done by then.

I had an EMF (Uberti-made) that I did that with. It was an easy task. After you take the screw out, stick a round punch in the end and pull easily down a small amount. The web is in a shallow flat machined into the bottom of the barrel almost to the muzzle end. The end of that flat keeps the web from moving forward and shearing the screw when fired. When you clear that, the web will slide forward off the pin in the other end. It shouldn't have to be forced.

If your "high quality" Remington repro has the cylinder pin catch up at the muzzle end of the pin (where it was on the originals), the Uberti Web part may have to be modified at the front end to set it up for the cylinder catch spring on the cylinder pin.

Otherwise, if the screw hole at the front lines up, and the index pin at the rear lines up, and the through bore will swallow the ejector spring, the web should fit.

The Uberti has a Colt type cylinder latch on the frame, and the cylinder pin has no provision for the catch spring as the originals and the Hartfords have.
