Between my wife and I we have 7 of them.  Two are the baby Vaquero style with fixed rear sights.  The rest are the older Single Sixes with adjustable rear sights like a Blackhawk all in 32 H&R mag.  Looking around Winter Range, it looked to me that somewhere around 15-20% of the shooters were using 32s.  There were 5 shooters on our posse and I checked a few other posses with similar results.  Posse sizes were 15 to 17 shooters.   A vendor selling ammo at WR said about 20 % of his sales were 32s in last year or so. The 32 H&R can be shot with either the mag brass or 32 S&W L ammo.  The 32 is a very accurate caliber.  At 5 yards all of our 32s will hit one very small hole shooting slower than match speed off hand.  A lot of duelist and gunfighter shooters like them because of the shorter distance between grip and hammer.  The also like the shorter hammer throw.  A lot of 40 plus caliber shooters will look down their nose at 32 shooters but the 40 plus caliber shooters almost always get beat on the score sheet, so revenge is sometimes sweet.  The 32s can be loaded really light, as many ladies like them or can be loaded very heavy. I like to shoot light lead at higher velocities.  I have some 32 loads that have the same kinetic energy as a 38 158 g bullet at 850 fps just for difficult knockdowns.  These loads do recoil a bit in the light guns but they really get the job done for knockdowns.

That is not a bad price for them.  Ruger has stopped production (they say to deplete distributors stock) and their value may go up.  Ruger says they will restart production but you never know.  The adjustable sighted 32s are selling for $500 to $700 used for guns that are 25-30 years old.

yeah thats bout crazy to me, i dont need a 32 that bad when a 38 will do that same thing for alot less, if not a tad more,

well i went down an handled one, wasnt impressed just not a real hand full ,be a great lady gun, but for 300+ i think ill hold off,

My 20 some year old 5 1/2 inch adj sighted SSM could not be bought for even that price.  It does have over size grips I built to fit my size 11 hand.  I also soot mostly a Ruger Only load with a 122 gr FNGC at about 1250, yep that one would get ya in trouble on a CAs range, it dings targets. ;D

But it is a light holster gun for 4 wheeler tractor and such and will handle anything I need to shoot around here.

What has impressed me most about this round is that using many different cast, swaged and jacketed bullets and a bunch of powders from Bullseye to H110 the only thing so far it don't like is Lee's discontinued WC at less than a 1000 fps.  And this has been from both mine and several owned by friends.
