The is my new project.  The blade is a 9.5 inch Damascus from Rob Charlton.  The handle is walnut with brass and horn spacers and brass pommel.  The guard is hand fashioned from a piece of steel, notched and browned.  The brass balls on the end are from my local hardware.  The sheath is  9 oz. leather with a 4 oz liner.  The danglers are horn hair pipes, brass and turquoise bits.  I still need to fine polish the blade.  The front is woven not a basket stamp. This has been fun and a lot of work.

That is beautiful. The browned hand guard really works nicely. I'm going to remember that.

Ray,

WOW :o

I never would have thought about actually weaving leather strips for a knife sheath.
that is beautiful. you did a great job lining up the weaving to the border.
I dont think you need to polish the blade. I like the knife the way it is. a dull blade gives it the old look.
browning the guard is a great idea and very unique. never would have thought of that either.

beautiful work.

I'M #330 DIRTY RAT.
