Like Mr. Hunt in another post I received advance notice of my tintype being sent by Mr. Rambow. From what I've heard, the original tintype will have amazing detail under a loop or magnifying glass.
I too am very pleased with the outcome, and would not hesitate to have another made, perhaps this time a sitting portrait without the period eyewear. I especially like the little touch of being able to see the photographer's metal brace/stand not completely hidden in the background, a feature seen in many full length portraits of the era. I was afraid to breathe for that count of 45 seconds. Trying to stay perfectly still was a chore.
Well worth the cost and I would highly reccomend a likeness secured by Mr. David Rambow to any and all.
If you've seen and handled original tintypes, ambrotypes, daguerotypes, etc., you'll appreciate the effect. Next step is to put it into a period looking frame.

It's hard to sleep when someone is screaming from being pelted by marble sized hail.  Joh also learned there is a drivers side of the tent, I wasn't that awake. ;D
