I just went over to the SASS wire and looked at the thread. He sure seems to have stirred up a hornets nest. It's been a little quiet overn there anyway. Time to stir something up. They seem to like it stirred up over there.

When you look at DD's post on the other wire, you get areal good idea of where SASS is. The guys comment on SASS being IPSC with cowboy hats is just about right on the money at major shoots these days.

I'll go Dick one better. I made the decision to not send SASS any dues this year, I just can't see any benefits to belonging. I'm going to use the same money to join two more local clubs in addition to the one I belong to. I enjoy the people at these clubs and use thier grounds so why whouldn't I support them rather than help pay for founders ranch?

So Dick play the game your way and let SASS self desruct in the long run. There are a whole bunch of people who feel like you do.

Gentlemen, Patds,

SASS is a business. If I get out of hand, they'll pull my thread. In the meantime I enjoy pullin' their wiskers. I'm genuinely serious about not being a gamer. I want to enjoy my sport more and worry a lot less about trying to beat the clock. I think this is the real future of Cowboy Action shooting.

At the same time, I won't pee on a pards boot cuz he wants to go fast. I just won't play his game.

I have a relatively new bullet mold that I've been selling a lot of. It makes shooting a lot more pleasant for recoil sensitive hands. It depends on how you look at it whether it's a gamer bullet, or a simulation of the original round ball. Either way you can enjoy shooting it. Same goes for clocks.

I hope this whole exercise will shed some light and not too much heat on the fun aspect of what we enjoy in common.

Oh heck, if the hornets nest is stirred up over there, good, I am all for whacking the nest when it needs a good whackin anyway.
Still, His post is right, reguardless of whom you are, it is a valid point and valid post, just like this one and everyone elses. Opinions are plenty, just ask me !!!
I never was one for trying to appease anyone anyway.

I`m another one that hasn`t sent in their SASS dues this year /// been supporting SASS 3 years ..and never shoot with the local SASS club because of the clock ......I`m in another local club thats just marked black powder ...we don`t do any shooting on a clock ..and every one developes black powder loads that hit where ya point them ....I was supporting SASS and Founders Ranch ...because i thought it was a good thing ....but the gamers on the SASS clock ....takes all the fun out of it for me . I spend to much time with my loading to sling my lead at a close target trying to beat a clock ...( just one mans oppion )

I understand and appreciate the differences we have as shooters. It's just that I'd prefer to make my preferences known and hang out with like minded pards. If bringing back the myth of the wild west is part of my fun, so be it. If speed is the goal, go for it, but don't expect me to play your game. I'll have fun watching you strain against the clock, but I have more satisfying varmints to dispatch.

Go fast, I'll pick up yer brass, spot yer misses and help at the loading and unloading tables. I'd expect no less when I'm at the line, gun in hand, hootin', hollerin' and raisin' general hell and smokin' up the valley with my red flames, white smoke and blue language.

I will continue to support SASS with my dues because they have been helpful
in keeping the legisature off our backs here in La La land. Just have to play the
game my way. It is always interesting at the 3 & 4 day shoots when the score keeper
asks for my score card and I tell them not to worry about it .

Black Harris closed the thread over on the SASS wire, and I think he was right to do it. Some of the stuff was getting way nasty. That's not what "Thundercolt's Renegades" is all about. In fact, it's just the opposite.

I talked to Zeke today. He is putting up a web site, but it will take him a little while. When it's done, I'll post the URL.

I can tell Dick D. that I think he's full of it (He's NOT) but I can do it without being juvenile or nasty. The actions of some folks AMAZE me. It makes me understand why Tigers sometimes eat their young. Some people are simply what I call "oxygen thieves." And Dick D. AIN'T one of 'em - even if we disagree on sump'in! Which we don't!
