I realize that the cost of custom grips are probably prohibitive, but I'm thinking about custom grips for an original Rogers & Spencer. The few examples I've seen advertised must be for the repros as they are way too small for mine. The original grips are long gone, so I'm thinking about "dressing" the old gal up. Any suggestions?

Interesting piece, what was it converted to caliberwise?

Yup, do a search with these words:
"bullet"
"mold"
"NEI"
"tools"

I recollect the company is called Northeast Industrial.  I have several of their molds.  ALL TOP SHELF QUALITY TOO!!!   ;D
They use RCBS or Lyman handles.  I'll do some checkin' & post their actual e-address.

Sorry, Pard!

I just done a bunch of directory searchin' for Northeast Industrial.  NO LUCK!!!
I know their founder/owner had passed away last year, but I reckonned they were gonna carry on with the same name.
But I guess not!

I was usin' their website only last month a-lookin' into buyin' a .50 BMG mold.
But I ain't givin' up yet.

Howdy Pards and Pardettes.

Tubac Pard, for custom grips I vote for Bar-Sgrips and their Tru-Ivory.  Go to their web site and check them out.  I have their grips on a Colt and a pair of Beretta Laramies.  I have been real happy with their product, and they give back to the CAS community.

That is all I think I know.

Pards,

The web site for NEI moulds is http://www.neihandtools.com.  I just went there and it still exists.

Hi there,
why not try to make your own? I am sure there aint much out there for this rare bird gun, especially in anything fancy-er than basic walnut, fake ivory, or fake stag ?
I do grips all the time from blanks, and it aint that hard, and you only get better with every set you do.
One trick is to NEVER drill your eschutsen holes ( the holes the grip screws and brass washer insets goes in ) prior to shaping, do them when you got it shaped to 90% at least. Frames useually have a pin through the base to hold the grips from moving anyway, drill those first and shape from there. One peice grips are MUCH harder and probably only for the most experienced Smiths.
It is mighty satisying to have a set of custom grips you made all by yourself, and makes the gun worth as much as the gun itself in most cases, especially with the fancy blanks like Curley Maples and exotics like Purple Heart or Zebra wood.
Try it out at least, and if you fail, so what !!!
Look for my post in the Dark Siders this weekend, I will have my set of grips I just made for a 1858 Remington .

Sincerely, Stacey Lee ;D
