Can Anyone Spare Some Gas?

Yup pards,
Got the new covered wagon and truck is setup now to roll. You can blame me for the gas prices, because as soon as it was picked up at the dealer, the gas prices started to climb again.
So, now what? I am all set for distant shoots and probably will have to flip burgers or be a Wallyworld greeter to round up enough jingle to supply the poor oil companys in their quest to bankrupt the entire world and simply take over.
Well, it has a TV, refrig and A/C. So I can park it in the driveway and sit out there and watch the travel channel, do some dryfiring and pretend that I am shooting up a storm here, there and everywhere.
I am really not going to be able to really use it that much for two more years, that is  when I retire, but it was a good deal and I figured I could sort out RVing before I hit the road, since this is my first trailer. That little cowgirl is my grandaughter and she is in training to be the next Holy Terror.
Anyone got any RVing horror stories I can learn from?

buck

oh yeah...you wanted some RV advice...

watch out for low hangin branches and if the wind picks up...roll that canopy up!  I have lots of horror stories I could share...but you will find out on your own...hehehe... ;D

Howdy Doody

Yeah pards, I lucked into a super deal on just the model I wanted and bought it probably a year before planned. I'll take it out for some annuals and get used to it. Maybe even go to Sequoia Park. I have always wanted to see that. This will sure be a lot nicer than sleeping in the back of my truck like I have been doing. I'll hit the open road in a couple of years. I would like to get back to the east side of the muddy Mississippi and shoot with pards I have always wanted to like 4 Eyed Buck, Goatlips, Sundown Jones and many others. Got my fingers crossed.

Vern, if you would like, call me at work Monday night, maybe around 6:30-7 it slows down some. Email me your number and I can call you if you would rather.

Well, my little grandaughter Ava already has a little sixshooter and holster that she practices dryfiring. I'll let her parents foot the ammo bill.  :)

Thanks Wymore,
I've got you on my list of pards I would like to posse up with too. A couple old squids should get along pretty well, huh? I know, maybe we could go on a snipe hunt.  ;D

Buck, this one is 29 feet long and it pulled pretty good the 200 miles I have towed it from dealer to home, but my mileage was 10.2. Uhhhgggg.

Gosh, that was what my mileage was in my old rig if I'd just finished a tune-up and drove up to town and back.  With the pull-toy behind it was more like 6.6 or 6.8!  I dumped the pull-toy after moving to TX and having the water in the pipes freeze up over the winter.  Had to replacing the plumbing.  Then there's the truck tire cap that I ran over... all was well until the trailer ran over it... then it kinda flipped up in the air, tried to hang onto the dump valves... and when that proved unsuccessful, took the valving and some pipe from the grey and black water tanks along with it.   ::) ::)  I watched this unfold behind me in the headlamp of a motorcycle that was following me.  Glad I wasn't him! :o

I traded the pull-toy in for a BIG tent.  It measures 16' x 20' and with a 16'x14' canopy mounted up front, I have a nice porch!  Takes a little longer to set up... but far more sociable!

Del, you know I will do that, fer sure. I can't cook. Not a lick. I burned up a bag of microwave popcorn at work the other day and the stick was still there the day after and I took a lot of grief from my co workers. I can boil water though, so long as I remember to keep an eye on it.  ;D

You'd think a guy that likes to eat like I do, could cook a little at least. Nope, not me.

WOW, Griff, that sounds like something I don't want to happen to me. The poor guy on the bike, oh my.  :)
