Just purchased  a  Coachgun , Shoots well ,but  having a problem with breaking open the action . Sticks like old heck . Just cause it is new??
This would be a pain in a competition.
I tried the search areas but just not hitting the right word combination . Anyone steer me to a spot for some info . Appreciate it

The Stoeger can be made super slick.  It will loosen up considerably with use.  Go here http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/productdetail.aspx?p=1577&st=stoeger%20spring&s= and order the Stoeger IGA spring kit.  Most of the effort in opening a Stoeger is from the top lever spring.  Once replaced, the lever will be much easier to push.  Then sit in front of the TV and open and close it a few hundred times.  The problem with shotguns is that on most stages you only fire four rounds, so the action only gets cycled a few times for a whole match.  Take it out and shoot a few cases of ammo for practice and it will loosen up nicely.  You can also go here for some slick up instructions.  http://marauder.homestead.com/files/Stoeger.html

There is usually two other places on a Stoeger that give trouble. The worst is the extractor.  The extractor shaftis usually not round, not striaght and not fit to the bore it rides through.  Clean up the extractor.  The second sticking point is the spring and shaft to the "Auto Safety."  The automatic safety will give you fits shooting CAS.  You can lop about 3/16 of an inch off the shaft that pushes the safety in place and shorten the spring.  World of difference.  You will still have a manual safety should you take it afield.
I do not recommend reducing the hammer springs. Those springs also act as a brake or cushion to ease the shock of opening.  Usually when the spring are reduced it isn't too long and the lower lug is torn from the barrels.

Dutchie   try this link,   http://marauder.homestead.com/files/Stoeger.html.... Some of us have removed the cam on the saftey on ours that's a decision you have to make on your own.  The Stoeger is pretty easy to slick up,  if I can do it most others can too.< (carefully worded so the Lawyers don't get after me)
