Howdy Charlie,............those are mighty fine looking short Rems. Being Euroarms,..they must fit nice in the palms of smaller handed folks like us,..hehe
Real nice job!  ;D

I notice there's a slight variation as to where you located the rammer post.  Looks like it's a little further back on the newer one.  I like that.  Was that for any particular reason?

Halfway Creek Charlie

Oldelm,
I located the Rammer latch post exactly like the original location on the newer Gunslinger. It works ok but you have to take more off the ejector rod when the post is mounted behind the front sight. if it is located like the earlier Gunslinger then you only have to take off about a 1/16" or so off the ejector rod and this helps if you are switching between the long guns and the Gunslingers. Course if I was wealthy I'd buy new Ejector assy's and cylinders for the long pistolas and the Carbine. Right now I have to switch them out.

Did Bernie ever get his order for the 44 Rem. cylinders from Kirst? Not that I can afford to buy one, but would like to know.

Charlie....

On June 8th Bernie told me that Walt said it'd be a couple weeks but that a new batch of .44Colt/Rem cyls.will be ready soon ,...but Walt added ..."Where have we heard that before"......hehe

Anyway, all I can do is try and be patient,...I've already paid for one,..... maybe they'll be ready soon.

Halfway Creek Charlie

Here are the Ejector Assy's I hinged to work in my Gunslingers.

All my Gunslinger Ejector Assy's will be of the second design as it is much easier to pin, peen , and finish the cylinder pin.

These are slick as heel taps on a frozen lake. I really like the one that hinges sideways. It allows you to keep the long ejector housing. Great idea, pard. How does the ejector work with the shorter rod? Will the spent rounds come all the way out if you give them a good flip?

Marshal Will,
One does great! One is harder to get the cases out.
The Second Gen.design is the best but the First Gen. and First Gen Gunslinger allows for the longer Ejector rod. I'm still learning how to go about these Gunslingers.( I think I have the ejector rods mis matched in the pictures as the longer rod goes in the shorter housing.).... that could be the problem. I'll have to check that out and report back.

The Third Gen.(next one I build) will incorporate the sight rammer post location of the first Gen. (post under the sight). and the second Gen. Rammer and Ejector Assy. that way I only have to trim about 1/16" off the ejector rod to pass the cylinder(even with the frame) for operation and leaves it long enough to push the shells out completely. The short rod gets them almost all the way out so you can thumbnail them on out. some shells eject all the way out, some don't.  Not a horrendous thing, but the longer you can leave the rod the better.

Originaly they were 8" Euroarms 58 Remingtons. I shortened them myself. Being the KTG(Kitchen Table Gunsmith) that I am...LOL

I love the balance of these and they shot as well as when they were grown-ups.

I could be convinced to do one or two for you if you like. I can shorten them for you.,  I can make you a jointed cylinder pin too.

BTW they both still have their BP cylinders too. Did I say I LOVE them! LOL

I bought 3 of my 4r 58 Rem. Euroarms/Armi San Paolo's off Gunbroker. One I traded a Pietta Gunslinger for. My traditional arms are a matched(?) set of 1977 Euroarms 58 Rem that are 451 numbers apart. One came from Gunbroker and the other from Watcher on Voyfourms BP message board.

Old Baldy

Howdy Folks,
I got his first Gunslinger and it is THE FUN GUN. When I put it on, I am "The Duke" going after the bad guys. Plastic bottles, cans, and rocks don't stand a chance. It now has a Kirst 45 long colt cylinder.
Charlie, I now have 2 XX8s and another XX9.

AW SHUCKS...Twern't nothing....
I do like the feel of the 4 3/4" Remmies.

OB
Those grips make the gun! Wish I could find out from whece they came. They were on the gun when I got it off GB. I don't have a clue as to who makes them. There are several out there that are close, but still not the same look. All I did to them was put in the Original Pietta Grip escutchens and screw.

Ok guys the cat is out of the bag..... I'm working on a 3" 44cal.  Remmy WITH RAMMER!, Latch and front sight. I'm doing my sketches right now and yes it is possible to make one with the rammer and latch and removeable cylinder pin.
I have a good idea what to do to the Cylinder pin so I can totally remove it to clean the brute.

Oh and BTW it'll have a birds head grip too.

Now to find a Euroarms donor pistol. I really do not want to cut down one of the Gunslingers to make this NAVAL DESTROYER.(You know, Stick it the BG's/Perp's Navel and cut loose)

Marshal Rusty Bore

A 3in. Remmy???????? Hmmmmm!!! I wonder how long it'd take me ta get up the nerve ta cut my $ 40 Euroams down to 3in.??? :o An R&D cylinder and a speed latch and she'd be one of a kind! :)

OK two of a kind! I just went to River Junctions web site and next to the speed latch is what I'd be trying to do.

Marshal Will Wingam

Great job on that pistols, pard. Looks great. Boy, I remember when my cut-down 6"er was a short gun. Now I have to lop off another 3 inches? LOL. I guess it's time to go buy a stainless one for that. I sure hope Uberti makes a stainless one. It would be great if all the parts were interchangeable. Well, I guess I could live with a blued one. ;D

Howdy, Charlie!

You mentioned your grips.  Do they look AND feel like real ivory?  They look just like Tru Ivory  grips, by Bar S Grips.

http://www.truivory.com/

They aint cheap, but they are: A) GREAT looking and B) about 1/3rd the cost of real elephant ivory.  When I grow up  :o ;) and can afford them, I'm gettin' a set.

Halfway Creek Charlie

I have no idea who made the grips on the Gunslinger. They are not real ivory.  All I did was add the escutcheons and screw from the wood grips. The Ivory like grips came with the gun when I bought it off GB. I do know they smell like a petroluem based substance.

How I wish I could find out who made them! I'd order a few more pair!

Howdy again, Charlie!

That's the thing 'bout the TruIvory  grips.  Thay look and feel like the real deal, but aren't, so the price is down out of the stratosphere to where they're more affordable. ('Tho they're still near to $200 with shipping, etc.  I b'lieve that fitting IS included in the price.)  They're not the ones made from compressed ivory dust, they're some kind of synthetic.

These I believe were in the $35.00 range, but I cannot find them anywhere. the closest to them is what i have on another Gunslinger and they came from the Grip maker on the Open Range forum. He has a deal on Ebay and sells grips there as well as on the open Range forum. Good Guy Good Grips, but not the ones on Old Baldy's Gunslinger!
