Army.  I like the additional length.

I have small hands, but the Army grip feels better. With the Navy grip, my fingers feel crowded.

What Riot Earp said.  I too have small hands, but I like the Army grip better.  I have no trouble reaching the hammer to cock it when shooting duelist style.

I have small hands too, but a love the Army grip of my .45 SAA. It don't give me any trouble.

I like both. The Army grip does have more room(even though i too have small hands). However when i hold my Navy's, the whole gun just 'lines up' better. When i aim it, it feels more natural like pointing my finger.

I have both Army and Navy grips. I have large hands and yes the Army's fit better but as was said by Jrw8214 My Navy grip revolvers point easier and they are the main reason I sold my 1858's My 1872's and converted 1851 just point like my finger and "ding, Ding!" Nuff said fer me.
Cousin we been ashooten at each other all day! How about we stop for a beer then we kin go home and get our axes. Or just as good, lets forget this whole dang feud, I'm agetten too old for this anyhow!

I've got both, but prefer the army for stouter loads.  Thinking of putting a set of army grips on one of my 73'.  I like the navy grip, but only for 36 and 38, for the bigger rounds I like the army grips.  I changed my 72 opentop from navy grip to army and can hit a lot better with it now.  My navies I hit just fine with them.

I have small hands, Army grips, and shoot gunfighter.  No problem at all with the hammers.  Just don't drop your hand low on the Army grips and they work just fine.

Here's the deal .......  ::)

Why not do ........ both???  Brass grip frames are correct for any of the Conversion or Open Top guns.  Simple.  Call VTI, order the "other" frame as an "assembly" with wood, finished.  Brass frames are easy to fit and don't require bluing after you fit them to the frame.
PRESTO!! You can have your cake and eat it too!!!

Navy, and I have larger hands.  I just curl the little finger under.  I've shot Colt SAA that way for years and the OT's just feel right, but it is so very personal.

For me, the Army Grips are the way to go.  I had an Army Grip fitted to an EMF Dakota (Jaeger), back in 1989 because the SAA Grip was to small for me and the Dakota was about 5% larger than the standard Colt SAA Clone.  Now it even looks "right".
Listen!  Do you hear that?  The roar of Cannons and the screams of the dying.  Ahh!  Music to my ears.

Howdy!

I have smallish hands but I can comfortably use either style.  I prefer the LOOK of the Army a bit more, however.  Go figgure
