Major 2

Some folks , here may remember, I lucked in to a USPFA Conversion circa 1993-4.
According to USFA...
only a few were made of the 51 Navy Conversions and even less (in fact unknown less ) of the Army Gripped Richards model.

So I had until today, hesitated to shoot my unfired gun.
Well , what a fool I've have been, Granted it's worth more unfired , but hey, I bought it to shoot ( I did not know then it was rare )
Worth more to whom ! the next owner... HA ! fat chance this one may go in the box with me.

At 7 yards it shot 1 1/2" groups with Black Hills factory Ammo @ POA or just a smidgen left ( It could have been me and my hold )
At 50 feet , still POA  and opened to 2" with one fly-er ( my fault ) and that was at 4 inches of POA straight up at 12 O'clock.

The action is Buttery smooth, with a very light hammer pull...

The shine off my smile was enough for others to shoot after darkness fell !  ;D

Way to go!  I still can't bring myself to shoot my 1851 conversion.

I understand completely...

It was so much fun though, I forgot the perceived diminished value of the unfired gun.

heck, I bought it to shoot...and as far as value I don't think I'll sell it.
Even if I ever do... I look at it sorta like you do an old antique, they have history...
