Howdy to the camp,

I have a question fior all of you who use 777 in your SPencers.  What do you use to neutralize the corrosion in the brass cases.  I use vinigar water for my cases when I use BP, but it seems to me it did not work with 777.  If I get the cases into the tumbler the day of the match, it seem to clean them well enough,  If I delay a day or two, they start to corrode

Hi TL
I have made it a habit to toss the 777 and BP cases in a container of soapy water right after shooting.  Then when I get home I rinse and set the cases to dry for a few days. Then tumble when dry. I've not had corrosion issues with cases that I've followed this process for, only for the ones where I get lazy and wait.

Do you have suggestions for some light 777 loads?

Right now I am loading hot. 45 grains (volume) 777 (2.85 cc dipper)  thats under a 350 DWM/HRHW modified Lee. As those are 1200 FPS, that's a bit hot for most CAS targets, I am thinking of a new load.

I am going to use my Buffalo Arms .512/350 mold (copy of Rapine) that seats much deeper.  I figure about 30 grains volume of 777 with a 50 cal oxyoke wonderwad for compression should be mich lighter, or maybe a smokeless load of 20-22 grains of 4227, or something.

TL,

How does this sound?  Suggested by another shooter.

I have used Dawn, but any dishwashing detergent will do. Mix with water, put it in a jar and take it to the range. As cases are pulled from the chamber drop them in the solution. Agitate frequently. When you get home, rinse the cases in clear water and tumble.
