From all the exposure they've gotten over the years in all the westerns, everybody is familiar with Wells Fargo; What was "number two" as Avis would say? Were there any others of note?
"If you can't be part of the solution, at least don't be part of the problem"
"America is too great for small ideas"
"Trust in The Lord, but keep yer powder dry"
"America bless God"
"There ain't no sucha thing as a free lunch!"

Butterfield Overland was already mentioned.

There were also Northwestern Express, Holladay Overland, Barlow Sanderson, Rockwell, Deseret, Risher and Hall, American Express, Blackhills Stage and Express, California Stage Company, and maybe a couple of hundred that only had a stage or two (or three) and followed a short route.  W.T. & Co. Express bought out a bunch and forced a large number of others out of business.
