Here's a link to some great color photos of an original. Test: there are two things about this particular revolver pictured that will not be on the repro. Hints: "SAA size" & "spring". Name them.  ;)

Seth, you got the first one right!! Look at the wedge. It has the older percussion spring on it.  ;)

Do you think the wedge could be a replacement? The loading gate spring screw looks to be a new screw??

Can't tell w/o holding it, & that's no guarantee.  However, as Colt was constanly using up old factory parts in their conversions to "clean out the bins" it could be numbered to the gun. In McDowell's book an 1860 Army RM has the percussion type wedge if I remember correctly.  ???
